Looking at all these drafted posts, short ideas, long rambles that are unpublished… This one has to be my favorite memory…

“So, yesterday was one of my favorite days out of the whole year! It was my grandma’s birthday! She is my hero, and a huge reason why I am pursuing nursing!
Well, every year I take her to breakfast for her birthday, so when I got off work at 615, I drove to her house! We had a cup of coffee, spent a little time in her garden, and then drove to a local cafe she picked out! Every year, while were celebrating her birthday, we talk about her husband, my grandpa. Tomorrow is his birthday. Yep, they’re birthdays have a 2 days difference! We do the math and figure out how old he’d be turning. Let’s see, he passed away when he was 53, and she was 33. She turned 73 yesterday, so he passed 40 years ago. He would be 93 years old tomorrow, July 28.
My grandma has been so dedicated to loving this man that here she is talking about him still, 40 years later. Her wedding ring no longer fits her ring finger, but she still wears it on her pinky!”
Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.

One day I am going to sit down and write out her love story. This was a draft because I planned on writing her story right after that opening. Life happened and I never got around to it… That doesn’t mean it has to stay unfinished… Hopefully soon I’ll sit down to write it all out for you. How she met my Grandfather, Jakob, and a little peak into that life she had at my age… today is not that day… But I loved this memory that has been sitting in my draft posts for the past 9 years and had to share!
